Whiskey & War Stories
This was our 3rd installment of our themed event called Whiskey & War Stories. It was held at the beautiful Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while mingling and bidding on the fabulous silent auction items. The Marine Corps Color Guard posted Colors and then dinner was served!
This year our featured guest speakers were from the Vietnam War.
Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Robert Jeffery. Bob was shot down on his first combat mission on December 20, 1965 while flying an F-4 Phantom II. Bob spent 2,611 days in captivity as a POW. Bob was released on on February 12, 1973.
Retired U.S. Navy Captain John D. Burns. Doug was shot down on October 4, 1966 while flying an A4 Skyhawk and spent 2,343 days as a POW until his release on March 4, 1973
Navy SEAL Richard Hetzell graduated BUDS Class 55, was a member of SEAL Team 1, X-Ray, Kilo & Bravo Platoons before joining Alpha in 1971 to volunteer for Operation Thunderhead.
Our moderator was Retired Navy SEAL Senior Chief Dave Hall. Dave was one of our guest speakers last year. Dave has also joined as one of our Board Members!
We raised over $90,000 at this event. We look forward to seeing you back at the Scottsdale Resort on April 26, 2019.
